The Problem

Yes, everything is fine but after an update (1.7.37a) MX Player is no longer giving support for AC3 audio codec due to some licensing issue. So here, I covered this tutorial with how you can add support for AC3 codec in your favorite MX Player v1.7.37. All that you need is to just download and install the custom codec package for MX Player.

The Solve

  1. First download the codec zip from this link. If you don't have the latest version of MX Player download from this link
  2. Put the zip file in root of your SDCARD
  3. Open MX Player from app launcher
  4. Tap on menu button (which is a few set of dots on top right corner)
  5. Navigate to settings->Decoder->Custom codec
  6. Browse the download zip which you just put in root of your SDCARD
  7. The MX Player will show you a pop up asking permission for restarting the app.
  8. Hurrah! Now you will be able to play your AC3 coded videos and audios. (Mainly audios)

Troubleshooting

I think you have guessed and did as I said. But if you did not, you can have a look at this video pointing how you can install the custom codec.
